Conference news: David Sheret to speak at OSJ Asia

Developments and commercial opportunities for vessel owners in the subsea market.

After such a challenging year for subsea vessel operators what does the future hold?

With restrictions on movement due to the global pandemic, low oil prices and rising numbers of laid-up vessels, the sector is looking at ways to bounce back in 2021.

David Sheret, Archer Knight Executive Director will explore the topic at the Offshore Support Journal (OSJ) Asia conference on Wednesday 2 December, focusing on the most recent developments and commercial opportunities for vessel owners in the subsea market.

His presentation to conference attendees will include a helicopter view of the sector. He will look at how to identify areas for future deployment, such as construction and maintenance of infrastructure, surveying and cable installations.

Mr Sheret is also part of an expert panel discussion on expanding prospects in alternative offshore industries such as the decommissioning markets in southeast Asia and the energy transition opportunities in offshore wind and elsewhere.

OSJ Asia is a leading annual regional event for players in the OSV sector, including vessel owners, charterers, designers, shipbuilders, equipment manufacturers, technology innovators and financiers. For the first time, the two-day conference is being hosted online, with a virtual agenda.

David Sheret said:

“OSJ Asia is always an informative event and this year’s online agenda will be a fantastic opportunity to increase engagement and further discussion.
“Understanding vessel activity for us is an essential area of providing market intelligence on the offshore industries. Vessels are a key enabler for industry operations and are an extremely useful key performance indicator for overall market health.
“It’s been a difficult year for many vessel owners and others in this industry. But looking ahead, we see strong opportunities across the sector. We expect activity to pick up as the world moves out of lockdown and many companies will also embrace the potential offered by energy transition.”

Through Flowline, Archer Knight’s market intelligence software, the company tracks more than 1,300 vessels globally, including remotely operated (RSV), platform supply (PSV) and divesupport vessels. Flowline also allows its subscribers other elements vital to highlighting business opportunities offshore, including oil & gas projects offshore wind farms, drill rigs and the companies operating in every major region.
